Straight answers, no sawdust.
Quotes, drawings, building code, schedules and crane days: what people ask before they send us a set of plans.
THE QUESTIONS
Before you hire a framer
Not seeing yours? Ask when you request a quote and we will answer it.
Do you work from architect and engineer drawings?
Yes. We work with architects, engineers and permit drawings, and the framing follows what they specify, including engineered members such as LVL beams and I-joists.
Are you insured and WSIB-certified?
Yes. Royal Red Builders is insured and WSIB-certified.
Is your framing built to the Ontario Building Code?
Yes. We build to Ontario Building Code requirements and to the approved drawings for your project. Code compliance starts with the design, so we frame to the plans and engineering you give us.
How fast can I get a quote?
We offer same-day quotes. Send the project address, the type of project, a short description and your drawings, and we will take it from there. The contact form does not take uploads, so drawings are shared by email after your inquiry.
How long does framing take?
It depends on the size of the structure, how complex the design is, whether engineered wood has to be ordered, how a crane can reach the site and the weather. We do not guess a number before we have seen your drawings, and we talk through scheduling when we quote.
Can you open up a load-bearing wall?
We frame planned openings in load-bearing walls, including the beams, posts and temporary supports set out in the project engineering. The opening has to be designed and confirmed as load-bearing first; we build what the engineering shows.
Do you handle materials and crane logistics?
Yes. Framing project management covers scheduling, estimating, materials, crane logistics, trade coordination and quality checks, so framing is planned as a whole and not as a pile of lumber on the driveway.
What kinds of framing do you do?
Custom homes, home and second-storey additions, basements, attached and detached garages, back framing and corrections, framing repairs, decks and porches, and structural carpentry such as beams, posts and planned openings.
Which areas do you serve?
Toronto, York Region and nearby communities: Aurora, Barrie, Bolton, Bradford, Durham, East Gwillimbury, Innisfil, Keswick, King City, Markham, Newmarket, North York, Oak Ridges, Richmond Hill, Stouffville, Thornhill, Toronto, Vaughan, and Woodbridge. If your community is not listed, send the project address and we will tell you whether we can take it on.
